The sad thing is that I don’t hate technology, I no longer trust it.
I see the great benefits technology has but can’t look past the obvious flaws or ignore the affect it has on the people, especially those who have such an addiction to things like Facebook or Twitter that they can’t function without a phone in their hands, they quite literally lock up.
While I know that I can’t stop the advancement of technology, I just want to enjoy what little time we have left before we don’t have the chance to actually be alone or pretend that we are free.
I wouldn’t say that I align left or right, to be honest I choose not to see that line. I side with what is best for the people, the most people, the overwhelming majority. Regardless of their race, religion, sexual preference, favorite sport team, friends on Facebook or otherwise senseless demographic that keeps people divided rather than united in one form or another.
I believe in tolerance, the spread of ideas and the exchange of information.
I believe that I should be able to share that information with any person, regardless of their political alignment. I believe that everyone can not be correct, that means that some of us have to be wrong, and we must be able to take responsibility for that.
Although these may be my beliefs, I don’t genuinely think that there is anything inherently so wrong with my beliefs that any one person would or should be offended by them. In all honesty we all bleed red and deep down want the same thing… to be safe.
I recently saw a bumper sticker that inspired me, a traditional plain white rectangle with bold black letters spanning three words that made me smile.
