Yin & Yang

The evolution of a relationship, a friendship and everything in between is often a complex and confusing maze of emotions, discoveries and memories. Each day I spend with her I learn something new, I find that beauty can be hidden in the most unlikely of places. The connection between her and I exceeds that of sexual, physical, emotional and even mental. As a Pisces I was born of water, as an Aries she was raised by fire. Like fire and ice we dance in stride tempting fate, the yin and the yang, the lover and the fighter. Everything about this girl contradicts the laws of physics, proving opposites attract.

My empathy often leaves me feeling incomplete, like a sponge I absorb the emotions of those around me both good and bad, apparent and transparent. Often this trait will leave me feeling both breathless and speechless, as I struggle to find the medium which meets somewhere in between. She has a smile that will light up a room, infecting those around her with a warmth that can’t be ignored. When she is sad her tears collect quickly, and could easily flood the room with a surge of emotions that is equally contagious. When I touch her I must be gentle, the slightest of movements could send her running.

There are too many coincidences, too many things that can’t be ignored. Despite the apparent differences in our childhoods, our families, and even core values the story of our lives tend to intertwine back and forth leaving curious similarities in their wake. Regardless of age or experience I have learned that opposites do in fact attract with a collective pool of pieces creating a breath taking display of Yin and Yang, to rise as one.
