Driving down a road destination unknown, sun on my face the warmth in my soul.
The scenery changes as time passes by, from rivers to valleys the mountains unwind.
The temperature rises while the landscape reflects, the past I remember, a life of regret.
There’s one thing I miss her face still so clear, it was only last night that she was still here.
Now miles apart she still feels as near, her memories the beauty that comforts my fear.
I close my eyes but they see right through, I’m sorry I’m running I’ll always love you.
The sky starts to part and the oceans in sight; the sun starts to rise erasing the night.
Waves crashing down they are rushing my feet, standing here now I’m feeling complete.
I wish you were here to see what I see, you needed your space and no longer need me.
On top of the hillside just an inch from the ledge, the oceans beneath me my life’s up ahead.
I take a breath and walk one more step, now free as a bird it finally makes sense.
To live is to learn through trial and error, you’re here now beside me there’s no sign of terror.
The next thing I saw was a smile on your face, my happiness remains in this beautiful place.
